Canals i Munné is one of the oldest and best known Cava makers in Spain, since its foundation in 1915 by the great-grandfather of the present general manager. Our Cava is made following the strict guidelines set by the Champagnoise Method, also known as Traditonal Method. We pride ourselves on having the recognition of the specialized press and top awards, like the Great Gold Medal at the international contest Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2013 for our first organic cava “Dionysus Brut Nature Eco”. Our cavas are made from the traditional Penedés grapes Macabeo, Parellada and Xarello, as well as from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Our production is limited and respects the year cycle, using only base wine from the “flower and first must” of each harvest. We only produce Vintage Reserva and Gran Reserva Cava, because its ageing goes from 20 to 60 months. Every bottle is numbered and marked with its disgorgement date. Only the best fruit and a long ageing, together with Canals i Munné family´s know-how, make possible the production of excellent Cava: fresh and complex at the palate and with the finest bubbles, which is a pleasure to drink either alone or paired with a wide range of culinary options.
