Bodegas Balbás was born in 1777, the year construction started on the first underground wine cellar, making today almost 250 years of tradition and six generations dedicated to the noble art of making one of the greatest wines in the Ribera del Duero and Spain. 35 years have passed since Bodegas Balbas , together with a small group of wineries created and established what today we know as the Denomination of Origen the Ribera del Duero. Since then, we have managed to blend together tradition from generations with the most modern and advanced winemaking techniques which is displayed in the powerful, elegant personality of our wines, characteristic of terroir and made well in one of the principal wineries in the Ribera del Duero. In the next few years, we will continue to conserve our tradition as fundamental, which allows us to continue to explore new forms of evolution in the wine world with a clear objective: to offer excellent 21st century wines, brimming with tradition and daring evolution.
